NSHSS NOBEL ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE IS: Friday September 22nd 2023
AWARD: $5,000 or $1,000
Applicants who are NSHSSA members in their Junior or Senior year of High School are eligible. Essay and Recommendation are both required.

AWARD: $2,000 for finalists in the different categories
Three awards will be given for the Fiction category and for the Poetry category. Must be original work submitted, and both resume and recommendation are required for your application. Open to all classes 2024-2027.

AWARD: $3,000 - $15,000

Any students graduating who are planning on attending a Community College or Trade school are eligible to apply.

TACO BELL LIVE MAS SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE IS: January 3rd 2024
AWARD: $25,000
No grades, test scores or essays. The Live Más Scholarship is for students ages 16 - 26 who are pursuing higher education, preparing for the workforce, or using their passion to ignite change in their communities and beyond. Submit a two-minute video telling us what you’re passionate about and how you plan to make a difference.
It could be a short film, animation, or a simple testimonial. This isn’t about how well you can make a film—we want to learn more about you, your passion and how you plan to ignite change in your community and beyond!

THE WALDEN WOODS PROJECT LIVE DELIBERATELY ESSAY CONTEST
DEADLINE IS: February 19th 2024
AWARD: $500
Each year, the Live Deliberately Essay Contest invites youth around the world, ages 14-18*, to consider a selected Henry David Thoreau quotation and accompanying prompt. Contestants are asked to write a thoughtful essay that uses personal experience and observation to demonstrate how that year’s quotation and prompt relate to their own lives and to the world around them. Like Thoreau, these young people use the power of their words to convey vivid stories, personal conviction and human compassion. The essay contest is typically open from mid-November to mid-February and the winners are announced in late April.

PROJECT YELLOW LIGHT

Project Yellow Light is a scholarship competition designed to bring about change.
People know distracted driving is dangerous, but they do it anyway. As an applicant you have one clear mission: create a PSA to encourage your friends to avoid distracted driving, specifically using your phone while driving. Whether it’s sending a text, commenting on a photo, or messaging your friends in your favorite app, it’s never ok to drive distracted. Together, we can spread the word and help keep our roads safer. Students can make a Billboard Design, Radio ad, or Video.

HORATIO ALGER NATIONAL AND STATE SCHOLARSHIPS

AWARD: $25,000 (National), $10,000 (State)

NSHSS FOUNDATION EARTH DAY AWARDS
DEADLINE IS: March 21st 2024
AWARD: $500
Applicants are asked to submit details about an environmental project that they are currently working on, or one that will be initiated for Earth Day in their home, school, and/or community. Requirements include a written explanation of the project, including the process, its impact, and how it will impact the future. Submissions should be supplemented with a creative component, such as a video, painting, drawing, or collage that highlights the project.

STOSSEL IN THE CLASSROOM VIDEO CONTEST
